We’re writing this just as the fall color is at its peak – we cannot describe to you how gorgeous it is outside our window right now! But as this season blends into the next, we turn our thoughts to holiday time. There is nothing more beautiful at Christmas time than Eureka Springs. Most of the town has their lights up starting around November 15th (us included, barring any last minute delays), so taking a carriage ride at this time of the year is magical.
Santa comes to Basin Park as early as November 29 and for the entire month of December, you can visit the Christmas Forest at the Crescent Hotel (we always recommend popping into the Crescent for a ghost tour anyway).
The 42nd Annual St. James Episcopal Church Silver Tea is on December 5 – a seasonal favorite! And don’t miss the Christmas Parade on Friday, December 6th, one of the best holiday parades we’ve ever seen. There will be all kinds of Christmas downtown activities from December 6-14, so be sure to check here for the schedule.
A very popular holiday activity is the Candlelight Tour of Homes, put on by the Preservation Society. You get to see inside some of these gorgeous Victorian homes, your only chance all year long, on Saturday, December 7th. And the next weekend is another great tour, the Annual Sweet Treats B&B Cookie Tour, Saturday, December 14th. Yours truly, the Bridgeford House Bed and Breakfast, always participates in this tour every year.
December 7-13 is the 14th Annual “Christmas at The Crescent”. They really dress to the nines at that beautiful historic hotel just up the mountain from us, in true Victorian style, and it’s just a short walk from your room here at the B&B.
Throughout November and December, the shops downtown have all kinds of sales going on, so this is the time to come! Get in the holiday spirit with a Christmas time visit to Eureka Springs, AR.
