Eureka Springs Grand Illumination

March 13th, 2011 by Sam Feldman

Last year during May, Eureka Springs had its inaugural Grand Illumination event – and it was wonderful! Colorful and bright, we had beautiful Japanese and Chinese lanterns decorating houses and inns all around Eureka Springs, including the Bridgeford House B&B. Sam went a little crazy with her first year of lanterns, but luckily we still have quite a few left. And this year the town is hoping to be lit up even better than before, as this new event gets more and more popular each year.

In addition, this year the event has been extended to the entire month of May, during our May Festival of Arts. There will also be the Grand Illumination Upstairs Downtown Tour & Taste which is on May 1st from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for this tour of homes and lodging facilities that will include a taste sampling of food and beverages supplied by several shops and downtown restaurants.

Also, plan to join us for the Grand Luminary celebration in Basin Spring Park at 7 p.m., May 1st. We will be honoring our annual Grand Luminary and lighting the park. The Grand Illumination is sponsored by the Eureka Springs Downtown Network.

There is so much going on during May, it’s just too much for one blog! See the May Festival of Arts schedule and reserve your room accordingly!

Looking forward to enjoying spring in Eureka!

First Annual Grand Illumination Coming in May!

March 8th, 2010 by Sam Feldman

We are so excited! A new Eureka Springs annual event will be making its debut this May, during the May Festival of the Arts month-long celebration. The Grand Illumination is patterned after Martha Vineyard’s Grand Illuminiation, which dates back to the 1800s.

The Eureka Springs Grand Illumination will be held from Thursday, May 13th through Sunday, May 16th when this unique Victorian town nestled high in the Ozark mountains will be aglow with thousands of Japanese and Chinese paper lanterns adorning the facades of historic downtown buildings and the porches of many of the grand Victorian homes throughout the village.

And here at the Bridgeford House B & B, we plan to be the best! Come join us the weekend of May 14th-16th, because we’re going to have a party! Saturday, May 15th, will find us and our guests in our lovely sunken garden area with all our lanterns lit; food, music and libations flowing, and Sophie trying to figure who has the best lap to sit in! Please come join us!
