Winter in Eureka Springs

December 30th, 2009 by Sam Feldman

It’s snowed twice in the past week! Not necessarily the norm for Eureka Springs, but always a storybook picture! Eureka Springs looks like a fantasy land in the winter time, with the dark forest of trees stark against the winter sky and all the dollhouses that are revealed by the bare trees! The first time Jeff and I walked downtown after all the leaves fell in the fall, we were stunned by the number of houses up on the hills! It took us some time to figure out how to get up there but eventually we did. That was half the fun, following little paths and trails through the woods and then coming across one of the stunning Victorian houses that we had seen from down below. Those jewels are often hidden when the trees are in full leaf.

Cozy Winter

Is this beautiful or what?

There are shops and galleries open, restaurants operating and lots of cozy B&B’ing to be had here in the wintertime. Remember, three of our rooms have fireplaces and three have whirlpools, some perfect ways to spend your winter vacation. Here at Bridgeford House we have lots of games, puzzles and books and movies on site. Cocoa, popcorn, and a different home-baked treat each afternoon gives you lots to munch on and you can always get Chelsea’s to deliver pizza! And, don’t forget – we have great winter rates!

And of course, there is always Sophie to cuddle up with…
